1. AIM: What are your committee’s aims?
To improve CHPPD membership engagement to 25% from the current estimate of 12%, increase membership retention by 10% (current level unknown), and maintain membership at 2000. (August 2008 estimate), and improve communication within the section, and with partners outside the section.

Goal:
To increase membership in the CHPPD and meet the goal of engaging the community and public health professionals within the section in activities related to community health improvement.

Measures: Three types of measures are identified and will be tracked.
Outcome Measures:
· Monthly membership numbers by type (student, professional, retired, other)
· Membership retention numbers for the past three years (student, professional, retired, other)
· Member engagement measures (estimated newsletter readership, voting participation, logistics meeting participation, moderator/reviewer participation, strategic team participation, ecommunities and similar webtools participation)
· Selected random sample CHPPD Section knowledge (chppd officers, sample of student members, and professionals…online survey?….or pre/post test done within committees/bimonthly conference calls?)

Process Measures:
· Assessment survey of critical section-related information developed, tested and implemented
· Brochure developed and distributed

Balance Measures:
· Membership recruitment and retention trend as compared to at least 3 other sections and APHA

4. CHANGES: Given your aim and goals and what you have learned, what changes will you focus on to reach your aims in the next four months?
· Members will be more knowledgeable about section activities
· Membership engagement will increase to or exceed 25%
· Will have data and trends on membership retention, and membership retention will increase by 10% Membership level will be maintained at 2,000 or may increase.
