Informal. It was held at a hotel near the convention center, and attended by about 20 members.

We use an online survey service to collect comments, and discuss these in October.
27. Student Involvement Our Section utilized a student liaison from the Student Assembly.

Last year we worked through the Student Committee Chair. We are trying to identify if we have a current section student assembly liaison identified. We used to have a liaison to the student assembly, but she says that she is not the liaison any more.

Yes
Student conduct a business meeting. In addition, for the first time in San Diego, they organized a special oral panel presentation session.

Identifying membership recruitment, retention and engagement measures, and getting data from APHA; Developing a framework for evaluating advocacy of successful APHA policy proposals and implementing them
34. APHA Strategic MapAPHA has a strategic plan which acts as a guide for APHA staff and members to follow as they work on behalf of the Association. The current version of this is a map which includes goals such as strengthening the effectiveness of the organization, and points to priorities for what the association would like to accomplish. The next few questions are an attempt to assess the particular accomplishments that various APHA entities have completed that are targeted in the strategic plan. Informal networks with advocacy componets and affiliates; try to write or collaborate on policy in at least one of the priority areas; strategize how to enhance APHA Investment; Have suggestion on improving APHA Policy Process that CHPPD governing councilors will be proposing in 2009.

We started working on developing a concrete strategic plan in December 2008, and are in the process of identifying measures. Was also identified as a challenge in # 33.
